| Charity-Project: with FALKE ''Together for the children'' |
 |
Helping poor people is important! All around the Manor Run to the Beat Basel you get the opportunity to support a World Vision-project helping children in Vietnam. While Vietnam’s economy is booming, the gap between poor and rich opens up wider every year.
Sportswear manufacturer FALKE joins right at this point to offer better perspectives to the children. Herbert Kenzelmann, director of FALKE Switzerland/Austria: “In a family enterprise like FALKE we look at sustainability and responsibility – no matter if it is in Sauerland, where we still produce a large amount of our apparel, or somewhere else in this world.”
World Vision plans the following activities for this regional development project:
School
World Vision opens classes for children who couldn’t follow the regular education plan. Talented or skilled students may apply for scholarship for further education in other schools. World Vision supplies the children with the needed school material, uniforms and winter clothing and pays the fees for the vocational school.
Health
All children will visit a doctor annually where they receive the required treatment or surgery. It is utterly important that the children eat healthy food. That is why the students receive supplementary meals.
Advocacy
World Vision clarifies the children’s rights through campaigns. Important holidays as for example the UN children’s’ day are celebrated. The children get to participate in various leisure activities like sports tournaments.
